Surprisingly, we have been able to give U.S. travel updates almost as often as we were in Europe. Who knew we'd ever need to leave this great city? We left for L.A. at 6AM on New Year's Day so this entry is belated, as always. Our early flight corresponded with our New Year's Eve alcohol drought. We stayed in tha LBC, (Long Beach for those of you who are unfamiliar with Snoop D-O- double G.) I was only able to stay for 4 days; Nick stayed longer and tacked on a side trip to Vegas. First priority is food: if you go to LA, you must eat at Providence. I can't describe food without sounding twee, I can only recommend you save your pennies and DO IT. Here are a few pictures from our favorite moments: Me dancing like a fool near Elvis Presley's star
The view from Mulholland Drive, which is a narrow road that winds up into LA's high priced real estate. The view of course is incredible, but it was also an adrenaline rush to drive so close to the cliff (nothing was protecting the side of the road.) Photos do this no justice, we killed an hour driving around but I could've easily spent an entire day just driving back and forth. :)
Universal Studios, pre Conan drama. Here is the Clock Tower set from Back to the Future
House from Wisteria Lane
Props for any tv show/movie that needs a trip to Japan
And finally, The Getty Museum, which is stunning and has such a unique architectural layout. Europe arted us out, we looked at the photography and spent the rest of our museum time outside watching the sunset.
